Does it need any tools to assemble?+
No tools required at all. The panels and legs click together by hand in about 30 seconds. The same process works in reverse to fold it flat again for packing. No screws, no bolts, nothing to lose in the field.
How hot does it get and can the frame handle it?+
The stainless steel construction is rated for high heat and direct flame contact. It will not warp or lose structural integrity under normal campfire temperatures. Some surface discoloration from heat is normal and does not affect function.
Can I cook food on it?+
Yes. The flat top rim of the fire pit can support a separate grill grate for cooking over the fire. Many customers place a grate across the top and use it as a camp stove for sausages, vegetables, and pots. The grate is not included.
Is it allowed at most campgrounds?+
Elevated fire pits are accepted at most campgrounds that allow fires, since they reduce ground scorching. Always check the specific rules of the campground you are visiting, as fire regulations vary by location and season.
How do I clean it after use?+
Allow it to cool completely before handling. Empty out ash, then wipe the panels down with a damp cloth if needed. It folds flat for transport without needing to be spotless. Stainless steel does not rust so occasional outdoor storage between trips is fine.
